  1. 4-button watches:

    • The following instructions are primarily based on 4-button watches, including SELECT, UP, DOWN, and BACK.
    • SELECT: shortcut for taking photos, select menu option
    • UP: enter viewfinder preview, scroll through menu options
    • DOWN: enter menu, scroll through menu options
    • BACK: exit current state or mini app
  2. 2-button watches with a crown

    • Rotating the crown up/down acts as UP/DOWN; pressing the crown acts as SELECT. The other button acts as BACK.
  3. 2-button watches without a crown

    • Short press the shortcut button: acts as SELECT
    • Long press the shortcut button: enter menu
    • Long press the home button: enter viewfinder
    • Short press the shortcut button: acts as BACK

To enable cross-app control, please complete the following setup on your phone:

  1. Watch App (Mini Program):
    • Search for "WristSnap" in the Amazfit ZEPP App Store and choose to install "WristSnap PRO" or the basic version.
  2. Mobile App:
    • Search for WristSnap on Google Play and install the mobile app.
  3. ZEPP App:
    • Watch features rely on the ZEPP App environment. Keep both the ZEPP app and the WristSnap mobile app running on the same phone.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Step 2: Permissions Configuration โ€‹

To enable camera control, please complete these settings on your phone:

  1. 1-Tap Diagnostics:
    • You can tap "Run Diagnostics" on the Home page and follow the guide to grant the Accessibility Service and Floating Window permissions, as well as configure the camera app, shutter, and photo preview operations.
  2. Accessibility Service:
    • Go to the app main interface -> Service & Permissions -> Tap Grant Permission for Accessibility. Follow the system prompts to find WristSnap under "Downloaded Apps" and enable it.
    • This is the technical foundation for simulating clicks and automated macro commands.
  3. Floating Window Permission:
    • Go to the Config & Presets section -> Tap Preset Config Tool. Follow system prompts to grant WristSnap "Display over other apps" permission.
    • This is used to record and auto-execute complex commands.
  4. Battery Optimization Whitelist:
    • To prevent the background process from being killed, set WristSnap to "Don't optimize" or "No restrictions" in your phone's battery settings.
  5. Remote Service Switch:
    • Ensure the WristSnap Remote Service on the main screen is ON. This allows the phone to silently receive commands from the watch.

๐ŸŽฏ Step 3: Shutter Calibration & Target Camera โ€‹

  1. Start Recording:
    • Tap โž• Add/Configure Camera in the mobile app.
    • Switch to and open your target camera app. Once fully opened, tap I have opened the camera on the floating window to begin.
  2. Shutter Stage:
    • Tap ๐Ÿ‘†Click on the floating panel, then tap the actual shutter button on your screen to record its exact position.
  3. Gallery Stage:
    • Record the sequence to open the latest photo thumbnail. You can use multiple ๐Ÿ‘†Click actions. Aim to reach a state where only the photo is displayed (hidden UI).
    • Once the photo is clearly displayed, tap ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธScreenshot to establish an image anchor.
  4. Return Stage:
    • Record the actions needed to exit the gallery and safely return to the live camera viewfinder. You can use ๐Ÿ‘†Click or ๐Ÿ”™Back.
  5. Verify & Save:
    • Tap โœ…Complete Recording, then tap โšกVerify. The app will automatically test the entire sequence, trigger a photo, and capture a screenshot.
    • It will attempt to auto-crop the background. If the background isn't black, simply tap the background area on the preview image to pick the correct color to remove.
    • Tap ๐Ÿ’พ Save and Apply to finish.
  6. Manage Cameras:
    • You can tap any configured camera app in the list to ๐Ÿ”„ Re-record Config or ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ Delete Config at any time.

Tip: You can tap on any recorded step in the list to modify its wait delay.


๐Ÿ“ธ Step 4: Start Shooting โ€‹

  1. Connect to Phone:
    • Open the watch app. Tap Get mobile APP to see a QR code for the download page.
    • Once the mobile app is set up, open the watch app again and press the SELECT button to automatically connect.
    • If it displays "Detecting connection with the mobile app.", "Request timeout", or "Companion service error" for a long time, please check the mobile app installation and permission configuration.
    • If you are unable to use it after changing phones, please tap "Get mobile APP" after entering the watch app, and tap "reset connection" on the Installation Guide page.
  2. Real-time Viewfinder:
    • Open your camera app on the phone. In the watch app, press the UP button to start a preview of the camera screen. Press it again to stop.
  3. Taking Photos:
    • Press the SELECT button on the watch to trigger the shutter.
    • You can customize the SELECT key for timers or "Photo & View" (see below).

๐Ÿค– Step 5: Advanced Automation (Camera Driver & Preset) โ€‹

WristSnap has completely upgraded its Camera Driver and Preset systems. The new system bids farewell to the rigid "record click coordinates" method and adopts an advanced approach integrating node trees, state machines, visual features, and OCR text extraction.

Through the standardized workflow of "Create Driver โž” Record Nodes โž” Configure Preset โž” Auto-Train", you can empower the app to truly "understand" camera parameters, enabling precise and automatic execution of any complex camera configuration.

The overall workflow is divided into the following five core phases:

1. Create Driver โ€‹

The Driver is the "instruction manual" connecting WristSnap to your phone's camera. In this step, you will define the basic operation hierarchy of your camera app.

  • Select Target: Choose the camera app you want to control and confirm the current environment language (e.g., English, Chinese).
  • Build Node Tree: Why design a node tree? Because mobile camera control interfaces usually have strict sequential and hierarchical relationships. For example, on most phones, you must first switch to "Pro/Manual Mode" before you can see and adjust the ISO, shutter speed, or white balance. This dependency of "entering the main interface first, then expanding sub-menus" branches out like a tree, hence it is called a "node tree".
  • Default Root Node: To simplify operations, the system has built-in the core starting point of the entire frameworkโ€”"Pro/Manual Mode (MODE)" as the default root node, so you do not need to create it manually. When you want to add any other specific parameters to be configured (such as "ISO", "Shutter", "Filter", etc.), you must bind them as branches under this default "Pro/Manual Mode (MODE)" parent node.
  • Constraint Group (Optional): If certain parameters cannot be active simultaneously (for example, in some cameras, adjusting ISO is disabled when auto-shutter is on), you can declare these limitations by setting a "Constraint Group".
  • Support Screen Rotation: Configure whether this driver allows automatic coordinate mapping when switching between portrait and landscape orientations.
  • Properties & Configuration Review: After the driver is created, you can use Rename and Edit Description at any time. In the description editing interface, the system will intuitively display the full configuration status of all current parameter nodes, making it easy to review the overall structure at a glance.

2. Record Driver Nodes โ€‹

This is the most crucial step. Upon entering the recording engine, you will see the Recording Task List interface, which lists all the nodes you created in the previous step. You need to "teach" the operation steps for these nodes one by one. (Note: You must record the parent node before you can record its corresponding child nodes.)

The complete recording of each node consists of the following four stages:

Stage A: Pre-state Preparation โ€‹

After tapping "Record", the engine will automatically execute all operations in its preceding path to guide the camera interface to the correct state before adjusting the parameter (e.g., before recording "ISO", the system will automatically tap to enter the completed state of the built-in root node "Pro/Manual Mode").

Stage B: Record Entry Operations (Navigation) โ€‹

Use the Operation Recording (Navigation) function on the floating console to record how to expand the parameter's panel:

  • ๐Ÿ‘† Click: Record a standard screen tap action.
  • ๐Ÿ” Search: Box select specific icons or text on the screen; during execution, the engine will automatically find and click this position via visual image matching or OCR (ignoring screen size and layout changes).
  • โฑ๏ธ Delay: Adjusting this parameter allows you to modify the default wait time added by the system after the previous action (to allow time for camera UI animations to unfold); alternatively, you can choose to insert a completely independent pure delay step directly into the action flow.
  • โ†ฉ๏ธ Back Key: Simulate the system's physical back button.

Stage C: Record Core Parameter Logic โ€‹

When the camera's parameter adjustment panel is expanded, select the corresponding recording method in the Parameter Recording area of the console based on the physical form of the parameter:

  • 1๏ธโƒฃ Value: Suitable for sliders with explicit scale readings (e.g., ISO 100-3200, Shutter 1/50-30s). You need to define the physical start and end points of the sliding track and box select the Value Readout Area (ROI), and the engine will automatically explore the limit values.
  • ๏ผ… Percentage: Suitable for sliders with no specific scale values (e.g., beauty level, smooth zoom). You only need to mark the 0% start point and 100% end point of the track.
  • ๐Ÿ”ฒ Option: Suitable for parallel button/text options (e.g., white balance modes, various filters). Supports manually box selecting target features, or using "๐Ÿค– Auto Extract" to let AI automatically scan and extract all option features within the area.
  • ๐ŸŽฏ Click(Param): Suitable for blind-spot parameter switches at fixed positions, recording parameterized touch control at specific coordinates.

Stage D: Exit Phase & Reset Operations โ€‹

CRITICAL! After parameter adjustment is complete, the camera often remains in that parameter's secondary menu.

  1. Click the ๐Ÿšช Record Exit button on the console.
  2. Continue using basic operations (Click, Search, Back Key, etc.) to record how to close the current parameter panel.
  3. Goal: Restore the camera interface to the default state from "Stage A" so that subsequent parameter adjustments can seamlessly connect.
  4. Once recording is finished, click โœ… Save Operation.

(๐Ÿ’ก Tip: During recording, you can always click the "๐Ÿ“‘ Steps" button on the console to view the recorded action flow, and you can click any step to revert and prune / re-record. After saving, you can click "๐ŸŽฏ Test" in the task hall to verify the stability of the closed-loop sequence.)


3. Edit Preset โ€‹

Once the driver is created, you can use it to freely combine various "one-tap master configs".

  • Enter Preset Management and click Add Preset.
  • Select Camera Driver: Choose the camera driver you just created (or downloaded from the Cloud Hall).
  • Configure Target Parameters: Check the parameter nodes you want to adjust in this preset (e.g., "ISO", "Shutter", "White Balance") and set specific target values for them (e.g., set ISO to 100, White Balance to "Daylight").
  • Preset Management & Review: Name and Save Preset. After saving, you can similarly use Rename and Edit Description for the preset at any time. In the preset's description editing interface, you can clearly view the specific configuration values of all parameters under the current preset at a glance.

4. Preset Auto-Training โ€‹

This is a fully automated "magic" phase. When you set specific numerical targets for a new preset for the first time, the app requires an actual physical calibration:

  • Click Train.
  • The app will automatically launch the camera and navigate into the various parameter panels based on the driver's guidance.
  • The system will utilize underlying visual recognition (OCR/visual template matching) to pull sliders in real-time and observe the screen readings until it finds the exact physical coordinates that perfectly match your set target values.
  • Once training is successful, these results are persistently saved as a dedicated configuration file. Every time this preset is applied thereafter, the app can accurately reproduce it at maximum speed without needing to search again.

5. Trigger & Apply Preset โ€‹

Once everything is ready, you can use the following three highly convenient methods to wake up and execute complex camera parameter configurations with a single tap at any time:

  1. In-App Execution: In the preset list, tap the Apply button directly.
  2. Desktop Shortcut: Use Send to Desktop to place frequently used presets on your phone's home screen; tap the desktop icon when needed to instantly launch the camera and auto-adjust parameters.
  3. Smartwatch Integration: Within the WristSnap mini-program on your Amazfit/smartwatch, select the corresponding preset to trigger remote execution with one tap.

๐Ÿ“ฅ Privacy & Security Notice โ€‹

WristSnap takes your personal privacy and data security extremely seriously, implementing the following optimizations and restrictions:

  • Full Local Recognition: All built-in image recognition, OCR text extraction, and feature matching technologies run entirely offline on your phone (Edge AI), and will never upload any images or screenshot data to cloud servers. To guarantee high-precision recognition without network reliance, we have integrated robust local offline algorithm modelsโ€”this is also the main reason for the increased installation package size of this application.
  • Lens Cover Strict Interception: To completely eliminate potential privacy exposure risks during automated execution, the system incorporates a strict interception mechanism. During driver recording or preset auto-training, whenever the system needs to capture a screen image for feature recognition, the underlying engine will first detect whether the phone's camera lens is fully covered. Since phones generally lack physical lens caps, you can place your phone face down flat on a desk or use your hand to tightly cover the front and rear cameras during recording and training. If it detects the lens is not fully covered, the system will instantly interrupt the current recording/training process and pop up a red warning prompt ("Privacy Protection: Lens not fully covered!"), and will only allow continuation once the lens is completely obscured, 100% protecting your real-life privacy from being recorded.

โ˜๏ธ Step 6: Cloud Hall & Resource Sharing โ€‹

WristSnap introduces a decentralized Cloud Hall ecosystem. Our vision is to build a collaborative community where everyone contributes and shares high-quality automation commands. In the future, you will be able to download top-tier camera drivers and presets shared by geeks worldwide with a single click, enjoying a true zero-config, out-of-the-box experience.

To ensure the highest level of security and privacy, the system utilizes account-less authentication (Ed25519 key pair), allowing you to explore the cloud without linking a phone number or email. Since all cloud interactions require an identity credential, we will start with "My Cloud".

1. Establish Cloud Identity (My Cloud) โ€‹

This is your cloud digital identity and private asset console, and the prerequisite for all cloud operations:

  • Generate New Identity: On your first use, generate a digital identity based on local encryption algorithms with one click and set an exclusive "Geek Code (Nickname)" for yourself.
  • Paste Key to Restore Identity: When you change phones or reinstall the app, paste your backed-up key string here to instantly recover all cloud assets and your historical nickname.
  • Copy Key to Clipboard: CRITICAL! Your private key is the only credential to retrieve your cloud assets. After passing the standard system authentication (fingerprint/face recognition/device PIN), you can copy and securely store it in your notes or password manager.
  • Edit Nickname: Change your public display codename at any time (to prevent abuse, there is a 30-day cooldown period after modification).
  • View and Manage My Cloud Assets: Clearly lists all the drivers and presets you have backed up to your private space or shared to the public market. Here, you can toggle the sharing status (public/private), or directly Delete the resources you have uploaded to the cloud.
  • Deactivate and Erase Profile: Provides ultimate control over your data. Executing this will irreversibly erase your cloud profile, destroy all public and private backups in the cloud, and simultaneously clear all presets and drivers in your local sandbox.

2. Explore the Cloud (Discover) โ€‹

The central hub for obtaining community open-source configurations:

  • Select Target Camera: You must first select a target camera based on your locally saved camera records (or by adding a new one). The hall will use this as a smart environment filter, automatically filtering out profiles that are incompatible with that app or your device's screen configuration.
  • Dual-Track Resource View: Provides two independent channels, Drivers and Presets, allowing you to search for underlying drivers or advanced automation playstyles as needed.
  • Read-only Protection Mechanism: To protect the rights of original authors, all drivers and presets downloaded from the Cloud Hall are locked in a "Read-only" state and cannot be secondarily edited or modified.
  • Multi-Dimensional Sorting: Sort resources by "Newest", "Downloads", and "Likes" (Favorites) to help you quickly find the most popular and stable high-quality configurations.
  • Block & Report: Help maintain the community environment. You can block users via Block Author (isolating all their historical and future resources) or use Report Violation for resources containing malicious parameters or misleading descriptions.

3. Manage Favorites โ€‹

Manage all your desired configurations bookmarked in the cloud:

  • View My Favorites: Centrally displays all the drivers and preset resources from others that you have "hearted".
  • Manual Data Sync: Configurations shared by others may be continuously updated. You can actively tap the Sync button to request a comparison from the cloud. If the original author optimized the config or description, your favorite card will fetch the latest metadata. (Note: If the original author deletes the resource or makes it private, the card will display a tombstone state indicating it is invalid.)

4. Cloud Operations for Local Resources โ€‹

In your local "Camera Driver" or "Preset Management" lists, you can execute cloud publishing operations for your original assets:

  • ๐Ÿ”’ Backup to My Cloud: Upload your hard-earned camera drivers or complex preset commands to your private cloud space to prevent data loss and facilitate cross-device restoration.
  • ๐ŸŒ Backup & Share Publicly: Publish your configurations to the public market to share your hard work with global geeks using the same device specs.

โŒš Step 7: Advanced Watch Operations โ€‹

1. Customize SELECT Key โ€‹

  • In the ZEPP App -> WristSnap PRO Settings, you can change the default trigger to Direct photo, Photo & View, Delay photo, or Delay & View.

2. Sync Preset Commands โ€‹

  • On the watch, press the DOWN button to see the command list. Select Update Command Lib to fetch your recorded macros from the phone.
  • Use the mobile app settings to sort or toggle which commands appear on the watch.

3. Quick Tap and High-Precision Tap During Preview โ€‹

  • Quick Tap: While framing the preview, tap the image to send a tap at the corresponding position on the phone, used for focusing. Due to the watch's low resolution, the tap position will not be very precise.
  • High-Precision Tap:
    • Long-press the preview image to enter high-precision tap mode.

    • After entering this mode, an enlarged view of the current screen is displayed. Long-press the image to show a reticle. Drag the image to align the desired tap position with the reticle, then release your finger to send the tap.

    • While not dragging, swipe right or press BACK to exit high-precision tap mode.

4. Image Zoom โ€‹

  • In the photo preview interface (e.g., after taking a photo or viewing the last photo), tap the image to toggle between full-screen fill mode and fit-to-screen mode. When in full-screen fill mode, you can drag to view different parts of the image.

๐Ÿ’พ Step 8: Backup, Share & Debug โ€‹

  • Backup: In the Classic Preset(Legacy) section, tap Export Full Backup to generate a backup file. You can then choose an app on your phone to send it or save it as a local file.
  • Import:
    • Directly open a backup file, select WristSnap, and follow the prompts to confirm the import.
    • In the Classic Preset(Legacy) section, tap Import from File to select a backup file to import.
    • Note: Importing a backup file will overwrite your entire current configuration โ€“ use with caution.
  • Debug: The app provides an Advanced & Developer option. Do not enable this switch for normal use. When you need to report an issue, turn it on, reproduce the problem, then tap Export Log and choose an email client. Describe the issue in the email body and send it to the designated address, or save the log file locally for later handling.

  • Free Trial:
    • The mobile app is free to use.
    • The WristSnap PRO watch app provides a 7-day trial.
    • The basic "WristSnap" watch app (without preview/presets) is permanently free.
  • Trial Limitations:
    • save up to 3 preset commands.
    • saving only 1 camera driver.
    • To help cover cloud service costs, the free version limits uploads and downloads of drivers and presets to 1 each per day. Once you reach this limit, you can watch a rewarded ad to gain additional download/upload attempts for that operation.
  • Purchase Decision: Due to the wide variety of phone models and camera apps, the developer cannot guarantee that all features will work perfectly on every device. Please use the trial period to fully evaluate whether the app meets your needs, and purchase or sponsor only if you are satisfied.
  • Google Play Purchase: Purchase via the mobile app. Once activated, tap Sync purchase status on the watch.
