User Guide ​

WristSnap transforms your Amazfit watch into a powerful remote control tool for Android phone cameras. Even without an Amazfit watch, it serves as a powerful utility to boost efficiency in mobile camera apps.

📲 Step 1: Installation ​

To enable cross-app control, please complete the following setup on your phone:

  1. Watch App (Mini Program):
    • Search for "WristSnap" in the Amazfit ZEPP App Store and choose to install "WristSnap PRO" or the basic version.
  2. Mobile App:
    • Search for WristSnap on Google Play and install the mobile app.
  3. Cannot access Google Play?:
  4. ZEPP App:
    • Watch features rely on the ZEPP App environment. Keep both the ZEPP app and the WristSnap mobile app running on the same phone.

🛠️ Step 2: Permissions Configuration ​

To enable camera control, please complete these settings on your phone:

  1. Accessibility Service:
    • Go to the app main interface -> Service & Permissions -> Tap Grant Permission for Accessibility. Follow the system prompts to find WristSnap under "Downloaded Apps" and enable it.
    • This is the technical foundation for simulating clicks and automated macro commands.
  2. Storage Permission (Gallery):
    • In the Service & Permissions section, tap to grant Storage Permission.
    • Please select Allow All. This allows new photos to be synced to the watch for viewing.
  3. Floating Window Permission:
    • Go to the Config & Presets section -> Tap Preset Config Tool. Follow system prompts to grant WristSnap "Display over other apps" permission.
    • This is used to record and auto-execute complex commands.
  4. Battery Optimization Whitelist:
    • To prevent the background process from being killed, set WristSnap to "Don't optimize" or "No restrictions" in your phone's battery settings.
  5. Remote Service Switch:
    • Ensure the WristSnap Remote Service on the main screen is ON. This allows the phone to silently receive commands from the watch.

📸 Step 3: Start Shooting ​

For most native camera apps on mainstream phones, you can use basic features without extra configuration:

  1. Connect to Phone:
    • Open the watch app. Tap Get mobile APP to see a QR code for the download page.
    • Once the mobile app is set up, open the watch app again and press the SELECT button to automatically connect.
    • If it displays "Detecting connection with the mobile app.", "Request timeout", or "Companion service error" for a long time, please check the mobile app installation and permission configuration.
    • If you are unable to use it after changing phones, please tap "Get mobile APP" after entering the watch app, and tap "reset connection" on the Installation Guide page.
  2. Real-time Viewfinder:
    • Open your camera app on the phone. In the watch app, press the UP button to start a preview of the camera screen. Press it again to stop.
  3. Taking Photos:
    • Press the SELECT button on the watch to trigger the shutter.
    • You can customize the SELECT key for timers or "Photo & View" (see below).

🎯 Step 4: Shutter Calibration & Target Camera ​

If the default configuration doesn't trigger the shutter, follow these steps:

  1. Select Target Camera:
    • Open your camera app. If the watch says "Camera not in foreground" when you tap the shutter, the app hasn't recognized your camera.
    • Go to Camera & Shutter -> Active Camera App -> Select.
    • Choose the correct package name for your camera app and save.
  2. Shutter Position Calibration:
    • Tap Calibrate Pos in the mobile app.
    • Follow the prompt to tap the exact location of the physical shutter button on your phone screen and save the coordinates.

🤖 Step 5: Advanced Automation (Presets) ​

This is the soul of WristSnap. "Preset Commands" allow you to adjust complex parameters with one tap.

1. Launch the Config Tool ​

  • Tap Preset Config Tool to open the floating window. The main app will minimize so you can operate your camera app.

2. Record Presets ​

  • Click Action: Records a tap on a specific location.
  • Drag Benchmark/Action: For professional mode sliders (ISO, Shutter Speed). Calibrate the start point and the number of steps.
  • Delay: Set wait times between steps.
  • Wakeup: Launches or brings the target camera app to the foreground.

3. Enhanced Features ​

  • Rotation Support: Enable "Support Screen Rotation" if the buttons move relative to the screen orientation.
  • Binding Apps: Presets are associated with specific camera apps and will automatically launch them when executed.

⌚ Step 6: Advanced Watch Operations ​

1. Customize SELECT Key ​

  • In the ZEPP App -> WristSnap PRO Settings, you can change the default trigger to Direct photo, Photo & View, Delay photo, or Delay & View.

2. Sync Preset Commands ​

  • On the watch, press the DOWN button to see the command list. Select Update Command Lib to fetch your recorded macros from the phone.
  • Use the mobile app settings to sort or toggle which commands appear on the watch.

👍 Step 7: Trial, Purchase & Activation ​

  • Free Trial:
    • The mobile app is free to use.
    • The WristSnap PRO watch app provides a 7-day trial.
    • The basic "WristSnap" watch app (without preview/presets) is permanently free.
  • Trial Limitations: During the trial, you can save up to 3 preset commands.
  • Purchase Decision: Due to the wide variety of phone models and camera apps, the developer cannot guarantee that all features will work perfectly on every device. Please use the trial period to fully evaluate whether the app meets your needs, and purchase or sponsor only if you are satisfied.
  • Google Play Purchase: Purchase via the mobile app. Once activated, tap Sync purchase status on the watch.
  • Registration Code: For users without Google Play, Obtain a registration code via a one-time sponsorship on the Afdian platform,enter your registration code in the Activation & Authorization section of setting page.After activation, perform a command sync on the watch once to synchronize the activation to the mobile app.
